"For as long as I can remember, I've had a desire to make and design things, a composer of never ending ideas and continual exploration.”
Barb was born in Vancouver, BC and has been in the art world since she was a little girl surrounded and inspired by a family of artists. She worked for decades as an ER nurse and in disaster planning and creativity has always been a part of her life.
She is fortunate to have several studios to work in located in Vancouver and Whistler and a summer studio on her family's rural property. This studio looks out onto an old growth forest providing a sanctuary where wildlife abounds with an endless supply of inspiration for her to create and never get bored.
Over the decades she has curated several galleries, shows and events and now acts as a juror for various Canadian art associations. She has done both solo and group shows across the continent. A recipient of numerous awards of recognition and in 2021 she was awarded Signature Status with the Federation of Canadian Artists.
In 2023 she became a member of the Aberthau Pottery Club, immersing herself in an additional creative adventure. She is proud to have since had several shows, commissions and gallery representation under her belt and is in the process of designing her own outdoor kiln.
